  1. CERTIFICATE IN ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE: NQF LEVEL 4

The purpose of this qualification is to provide the learner with the skills, competence, knowledge and understanding to become an accounting technician. It enables students to develop work relevant competence, as an aid to employment and career progression.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Applicants who have obtained a Namibia Senior Secondary Certificate Ordinary (NSSCO) or Higher Namibia Senior Secondary Certificate Higher (NSSCH) or equivalent with a minimum of 14 points in 6 subjects to be admitted to the 1-year Certificate programme or may be admitted with a qualification at NQF Level 3.

  1. BACHELOR OF ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE: NQF LEVEL 7

This qualification is a three (3) year degree with multiple exit levels. The first year the student can exit with a Certificate in Accounting and Finance, NQF level 5, the second year the student can exit with a Diploma in Accounting and Finance, NQF level 6.

The purpose of this qualification is to equip learners with advanced level knowledge, specific skills, applied competence and the necessary attitudes in a context that prepares them for professional careers within the accounting and business field. It furthermore aims to give learners the advantage in the workplace through direct practical association with prospective employers.

The Bachelor of Accounting and Finance (level 7) combines detailed theoretical knowledge with technical skills that are relevant and responsive to the needs of industry in Namibia. This qualification prepares graduates for careers in accounting, auditing and taxation.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must have obtained a minimum of 25 points in 6 subjects in the National Senior Secondary Certificate Ordinary/Higher or the equivalent thereof to be admitted to the 3-year degree programme or may be admitted with a qualification at NQF Level 4 obtained at International Training College-Lingua or the equivalent thereof.

Mature Age applicants or applicants with non-Namibian school-leaving qualifications or with previous tertiary experience will be considered individually by the Examination Committee headed by the Director of Academic Affairs.

  1. BACHELOR OF ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE (Hons): NQF LEVEL 8

 This qualification is aimed primarily at giving the learner technical, theoretical knowledge, practical knowledge and workplace knowledge and skills required in their chosen occupational area. The program seeks to equip the qualifying student with an in-depth knowledge of a major discipline in more than one area and to model an accountant who is ethical and aware of the code of conduct adopted by the college and of the necessity to carry this code into the world of work. It builds on the already obtained Bachelor of Accounting and Finance, NQF level 7.

Applicants must have obtained a qualification at NQF Level 7 at International Training College-Lingua or the equivalent thereof to be admitted to the 1-year Honours Degree programme.

Mature Age applicants or applicants with non-Namibian school-leaving qualifications or with previous tertiary experience will be considered individually by the Examination Committee headed by the Director of Academic Affairs.
