Diploma: Labour Law NQF Level 5

PROGRAMME DESCRIPTION

The Diploma in Labour Law Level 6 is designed for learners who endeavour to pursue a career in Labour Law and Labour Relations to practice as labour brokers, human resource practitioners, union officials and labour officials. The qualification consists of formal labour and industrial relations legislation and detailed procedural prescriptions. It will prepare students for careers in both public and private labour practice.

This qualification is aimed at providing participants with a general overview and survey of labour law. Labour law, in a narrow sense, is that body of law which governs the employment relationship. In a broader sense (according to Deakin) labour law is looked at as the normative framework for the existence and operation of all the institutions of the labour market: the business enterprise, trade unions, employer’s associations, and the state as regulator.
